IRIS JANVIER autumn/winter 2018 collection we are talking about organic flowing forms, the respect for materials allowed to shine, and the simplicity that in turn reveals many compelling subtexts. This season there’s a tendency to embellish the minimalistic tailoring we are known for. We chose comforting fabrics as soft fine wool and cashmere and enveloping silhouettes.
The concept is clear. It’s one of those achingly chic dream-wardrobe collections. In other words, that increasingly rarely seen phenomenon known as “day clothes” is prioritized to some degree.
All of the silhouettes stress the respectful fabric treatment and the kind of ambitious craftsmanship we are capable of. The idea of gender fades yet again, the designs are powerful and androgynous.
The collection shows that we are committed to creating a label that is opposed to the idea of disposability and the continuous turnaround of trends. We create things of lasting value.
There are strictly tailored jackets, gracefully styled knitwear, edgy skirts and of course a parade of perfectly cut dresses wrapped into soft and luxurious wool coats undermining the possible discrepancy between how it looks and how it feels: what appears formal moves freely.
We strive to offer hero pieces that are so recognisably IRIS JANVIER and yet all so new.
